final post
I have learned so much from this class. I learned that you can finish a book in one day, that there is better reading material out there then you think, and that when you read it adds to your conversations with others. I have actually recommended books to other people, other than twilight. I wish I could have kept up with my blog more, but I enjoyed the books we read, and the group work. The dialogue in class was helpful, the books went a lot deeper than just a story, and they all had certain things in common, they just flowed from one to the next. I would have to say that hunger games was my favorite ( feed being a close second), but I found 1984 quite interesting. When I first went to get the books at the library, I was a little intimidated by 5 books, but they flew by like nothing. I enjoyed the class a lot more than I thought I would and I enjoyed your selection of reading material.

I never realized how much reality TV I watched. I don't have cable, but I go to my parents to watch a few shoes once or twice a week. I go up to my old bedroom and watched teen mom 2 for like two hours. Once you start watching it's hard to turn off. They play the shows in order, so that you keep watching to find out how their lives turn out. My dad made the comment that it's all just drama, and he doesn't understand why we want to watch or get involved with it. But I think we do it because some people like drama. Maybe not in their lives but they like to know or hear about it. Seeing how bad other peoples lives are makes our lives seem so much better. I guess you could say that we watch so that we forget about or insecurities or our problems.
Reality TV shows are real people, I think. After the first teen mom show there was a lot off publicity in the tabloids about the mothers and the children. But a lot of the things are made a lot bigger to keep the viewers drawn in. The thing with teen mom 2 is that they have 4 mothers, and they all are in different situations. So if you want to see a couple make it and get married, the show has that. If you want to see struggling, they have a lot of that. There is one couple that is getting married, the mother almost didn't go through with it, but then she decides to. The other three couples have a lot of problems(some more than others) The one her baby's daddy just left her and moved out of their apartment, the other teen mother was living with her baby's daddy's parents, but dating another guy, so his parents kicked her out (the cops ere called), and the third teen mom does drugs, has had a lot of different boyfriends, and her mother has custody of her child. Even the couple getting married has problems, or drama to make them more interesting, they have twins and the one baby has health issues, so you feel bad for them, which is why I like the show, I like that couple.
We viewers help reality TV shows. When we watch a show a lot they will start to play it more. When people go to YouTube and watch certain parts of certain episodes, the TV station will replay that show. We like action and drama. And that's what we get, it seems so real and you just cant help but look. With teen mom 2 I feel bad for the teen mothers, but I can't help them by watching their show.

Without the feed life is possible. There are so many more options and the playing field is leveled. There is no problem with money, because when it comes to an organ or a vital thing, there should not be the option of a cheaper and less abdicate organ. Everyone has become so dependent on the feed that it is hard to imagine life without it, but it would be a better place. I wouldn’t be laying on my deathbed unable to speak. I wouldn’t have been turned away from treatment because I’m not "worth" it. I am a human life, and isn’t any human life worth saving? Ware all so absorbed by the feed that we don't recognize life anymore. We lost track of what really matters. We can't even focus on things without being interrupted by commercials, or advertisements. Society is even having trouble resisting these advertisements. Everyone thinks that I’m the odd one because I can write, but they have gotten so lazy that they couldn’t even if they wanted to. I think we are all being manipulated by the feed. I wish that I would never have gotten one, and then I could live.

Blog #2
I'm sorry guys, I tried to post my blog last night, but my computer took too long and didn't post.
I could not believe the documentary (second skin.) They were playing games on the computer for over eight hours in a row. There lifestyle changed to suit their needs of being on a computer. Some of the people had jobs, but as soon as they got home (some before) they were logged on to their games for raids. The family members and the friends really played into the gammers addictions. For one the pregnant wife would log her husband on to his game before he got home so that he wouldn't miss out on anything. The second thing that I saw that I coudln't believe was that they were buying groceries to suit their needs. They didn't even want to get up from their computer, so they bought coolers, and "the quickest meals possible." It's sad when your nuterician comes after a game. The one husband said that his wife, and job come before the game, but when you come home from work and head streight to the computer I beg to differ! The third thing that surprised me was that there is a safe house for addicted gamers! If this isn't a sign that things are getting out of hand then I don't know what is. But even the safe house wasn't helping! It's sick to think that were incapable of saying no to a game. These people were losing their jobs, houses, and families because of a game! And worse yet they thought about suicide because they didn't want to face all the people they let down. Something has to change!

About me
- Nicki
- This is my third year at Shippensburg University. I was recently married on April 24th. I work at a daycare. I am an art major,so my hobbies consist of painting and drawing, that sort of thing. I do enjoy to read, but I can't find as much time to do so lately. During the break I finished the Twilight series, which I thought were amazing. I listen to a lot of different kinds of music, from country to rap. I do go line dancing, but I can't say that country is my favorite. Right now I do not have cable, so I don't watch to much T.V. We do buy a lot of movies and we have all of the House episodes. I love our Wii, but mostly for the Wii Fit game. I am taking intro to Lit because it is a requirment, and I enjoy to read. In my opinion liturature is writing. This could be anything from books, poems, to song lyrics. I look foward to getting to know you all.
